Using Google Authenticator for Two Factor Authentication with your Logit.io account

Google Authenticator or similar apps can be found in the Apple App Store (opens in a new tab) and the Google Play Store (opens in a new tab).

First, you will need to enable two-factor authentication for your Logit.io account. When enabling 2FA using Google Authenticator (or similar) you will be presented with a barcode and a field to enter a passcode. You need to scan the barcode to retrieve the passcode.

Open the Google Authenticator app on your device and press the red plus button. Select the "Scan a barcode" option. You may be asked if the Google Authenticator can have permission to use the camera on your device, say yes to this.

Your device screen will show the camera view with a red box outline and crosshair, aim the device so that the barcode presented is within this box.

Once the barcode has been scanned, your Logit.io account will be added to Google Authenticator with an associated six-digit code. Enter this code into the passcode field and click to continue. You will now be returned to your Logit.io profile page.

Two-factor authentication complete

If Two Factor Authentication has been set up successfully on return to your profile page, the following message is displayed under security.

Disable Two Factor Authentication

Each time you Sign in to Logit.io with Two Factor Authentication enabled you will be presented with the screen below. You simply need to open the Google Authenticator app and type in the code displayed for your Logit.io account. Continuing will take you straight to your Logit.io profile page.

2-Step Authentication

By ticking the checkbox to "remember this browser" you won't be prompted for Two Factor Authentication for a period of 30 days when using the same browser.
